Madelaine German is a musician, singer-songwriter and composer based out of Jackson Hole, WY.
Born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to a mother who was both a collegiate music teacher and also an active church musician, Madelaine began making music as soon as she could reach the keys on the piano. She studied classical voice and piano as a child and attended the University of Richmond Governor's School for Visual and Performing Arts in during high school. After graduating from James Madison University with a BA in Music Industry, Madelaine headed west to L.A. to intern with film score composer Hans Zimmer at Remote Control Productions.
After her time spent in L.A., Maddy was unsure of whether music was to what she wanted to commit her life's work. To settle said question, Maddy took some time away from playing to instead pursue new life experiences, ranging from a tenure working as a ranch horse wrangler in Colorado, to a few seasons ski patrolling in Utah, to a summer waitressing on Nantucket Island. After five years spent away from music, Maddy found herself in Jackson Hole, WY --- and making music again.
Maddy also works as a custom wedding songwriter and composer, composing music for a variety of sectors, from creative and commercial film projects and podcast intros to engaged couples looking for that special something to make their wedding day truly stand out.
Maddy continues her lifetime musical education namely through online learning courses. In the past year alone she has completed (7) continued learning courses ranging in subject from the Technology of Digital Audio Production (Berklee College of Music) to Herbie Hancock's Jazz Intensive (Masterclass.com).
Madelaine's life mantra is that "Music is the weapon," as Fela Kuti, Nigerian musician and human rights activist, once bravely stated. She has dedicated her life to cultivating her musical talent so that she may reach her fullest human potential and contribution to this world.
Maddy is magnetically drawn to the emerging and cutting-edge world of cognitive neuroscience, as recent developments in neuroimaging resolution move scientists into the realm of being able to observe the impacts of music on brain wave state and high-performance in new and exciting ways. She is currently researching the world of sound and music frequency as a tool to unlock elite mental performance.
